Musica Viva NY closes its 2021-2022 season with Rachmaninoff’s colossal All-Night Vigil for a cappella choir, a work that was scheduled for performance before the COVID-19 pandemic. To accompany it, Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez will be joined by pianist Margaret Kampmeier to perform Rachmaninoff’s thrilling Symphonic Dances in its version for two pianos, interspersed throughout the movements of the Vigil.

CLASSICAL SINGING AND NEW YORK IN JUNE

Summer Program

MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC  / JUNE 2022

Classical Singing and New York in June (AKA "CSNY in June") is an 18-day program providing intensive vocal study and coaching for a small group (maximum 16) of aspiring professional singers and pianists ages 18-35, culminating in a final public recital in a recognized New York venue. CSNY's vision is to enhance musical training with cultural immersion in the vast and inexhaustible resources of New York City. The program offers intensive voice lessons, coaching, and masterclasses with leading professionals in the field, in combination with informative city walking tours, museum visits, ethnic dinners, and attendance at theatrical and concert events.
